"Holy stomping and chomping gods of progressive metal, did this quintet take me by the lapels and drag me through pouring rain, feeling like the sissy-boy I can only become in the presence of such greatness. Not content to merely ape the moves of Dream Theater and Fates Warning, Circus Maximus takes heavy metal vocal harmonies, blends them with musical touches borrowed from Frank Zappa (for real) and seals the deal with production that you could eat off of but that also won't cause you to slide across the floor when you listen to this nine-track masterpiece. More importantly, this may be the first time that some have heard of Mats Haugen, a name that all guitar lovers should get used to hearing--it's the name that's going to dominate our future. Key tracks include “Biosphere,” “Sin,” “Alive” and blah yadda blah blah--all the rest of 'em too!"
